Bektaş Veli Revis hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. Özalp Sanak made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mehmet Halis Ersever in the 6th minute of play. In the 14th minute, a hard, long distance shot from Ahmet Danış Ensar hit the top of the crossbar and flew over the goal. Mehmet Erduran received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Aktan Erentürk tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Özcan Özsel came up free with the goalie in the 20th minute, the PEGASUS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Özcan Özsel couldn't finish the play. When Nafiz Çağan fell near the penalty area in the 23rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sakaryaspor's protests and gave Nafiz Çağan a yellow card for diving instead. Mehmet Halis Ersever sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Mehmet Halis Ersever in the 30th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Özalp Sanak prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Tuncer İlteber made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 31stth minute coming free in front of the goal, but Aktan Erentürk would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. 33 minutes into the match, PEGASUS's goalkeeper Aktan Erentürk had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tuncer İlteber. In the 37th match minute, PEGASUS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tayyip Berkman to maneuver through the defense. Aktan Erentürk showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mehmet Erduran in the 43rd minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in PEGASUS's zone, Mehmet Erduran stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aktan Erentürk came out of the goal and Mehmet Erduran tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Özcan Özsel to make the kick off. Tuncer İlteber scored 1-0 in the 52nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Aktan Erentürk, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 56 minutes into the match, Sakaryaspor's goal looked a bit too open when Özcan Özsel came free, but Özalp Sanak reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Tuncer İlteber came up free with the goalie in the 59th minute, the Sakaryaspor fans jumped to their feet. Özalp Sanak made a fantastic save in the 77th minute, when Mehmet Halis Ersever sent off a good shot on target. In the 81st minute Mehmet Erduran shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aktan Erentürk saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mehmet Erduran fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aktan Erentürk having to interfere. The supporters of PEGASUS booed when Sakaryaspor was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sungur Hünkar didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mehmet Halis Ersever could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 92nd minute of the match, but Özalp Sanak made a huge save. 96 minutes into the match, Sakaryaspor's Mehmet Erduran sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Aktan Erentürk narrowly saved just below the crossbar.
