Bora Han Alkım fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Metehan Aşkın having to interfere. After 17 played minutes Istanbul SK got a freekick which was hit by Esat İmralı. After having played for 18 minutes, Cengiz Şehzade managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tire JK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cengiz Şehzade was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 20 minutes into the match, Istanbul SK's goal looked a bit too open when Bora Han Alkım came free, but Metehan Aşkın reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. İsmet Kahya showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mustafa Arif Orkan in the 22nd minute of the match. Mustafa Hakan Uzma fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without İsmet Kahya having to interfere. After 37 minutes, Şevket Tokalp mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Istanbul SK and the Tire JK players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Tire JK booed when Istanbul SK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Şevket Tokalp didn't get a good kick on the ball. İsmet Kahya showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mustafa Arif Orkan, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. Tire JK's Cengiz Şehzade got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. İsmet Kahya took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mustafa Arif Orkan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
