The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Giresun SK's Kuddusî Saye played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Abdullah Yöner in the 4th minute of play. Uğuralp Göçmen stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ertuğrul Has's shot from short distance in the 5th minute. In the 7th minute of the match, Abdullah Yöner tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Kuddusî Saye saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Uğuralp Göçmen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ahmet Ege Alişan in the 9th minute of the match. Uğuralp Göçmen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ertuğrul Has, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Caglayan getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. İldeniz Işıklı hit a great ball. In the 12th minute of the match Harun Kayıboylu sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Uğuralp Göçmen skillfully saved the ball. Ertuğrul Has fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Uğuralp Göçmen having to interfere. In the 18thth minute of the game Ertuğrul Has who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Caglayan's Uğuralp Göçmen was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Uğuralp Göçmen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ahmet Ege Alişan, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. In the 20th match minute, Caglayan was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Abdullah Yöner to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Giresun SK getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Ahmet İlhan Battal hit a great ball. After some careless play in the Caglayan defense, Ertuğrul Has kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Uğuralp Göçmen. The Caglayan fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Uğuralp Göçmen should have stopped the shot. 33 minutes into the game, Giresun SK's Ahmet Ege Alişan nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Uğuralp Göçmen made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. İldeniz Işıklı could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 37th minute of the match, but Kuddusî Saye made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ahmet Ege Alişan in the 39th minute of play forced Caglayan's goalkeeper Uğuralp Göçmen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 40 minutes into the game, Giresun SK's Ertuğrul Has nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Uğuralp Göçmen made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3.

The wind increased when Ertuğrul Has made the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute, Ahmet İlhan Battal made a precise shot to the right of Uğuralp Göçmen. Caglayan's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-4. Ertuğrul Has struck a weak shot in the 61st minute. Uğuralp Göçmen didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Giresun SK. Uğuralp Göçmen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ahmet Ege Alişan in the 65th minute of play. In the 66th play minute Ertuğrul Has came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Uğuralp Göçmen. 0-5. In the 69th minute, Ahmet Ege Alişan fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Uğuralp Göçmen, passed just outside the right post. Uğuralp Göçmen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ahmet Ege Alişan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 75 played minutes Caglayan got a freekick which was hit by İldeniz Işıklı. Ertuğrul Hass short, quick shot in the 83rdth minute got Uğuralp Göçmen to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. An unexpected shot in the 95th minute by Ahmet Ege Alişan got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. When the match was over Giresun SK could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Caglayan throughout the match.
