With a little luck, Istanbul's Berker Eski got control of the ball when Ali Vedat Özdilek tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Ali Mertoğul had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match had gone on for 22 minutes, Ali Mertoğul took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Berker Eski to make any attempt to save it. Naci Ereken received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Mustafa Barış Suyurgal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ali Vedat Özdilek fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Berker Eski having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ali Mertoğul in the 32nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Berker Eski saved Istanbul from getting behind. When the match had gone on for 32 minutes, Ali Mertoğul put it in 2-0 from a short distance just to the right of Berker Eski. Posof's Ali Mertoğul got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 37 minutes into the game, Ali Mertoğul recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Berker Eski. Ali Mertoğul showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-0. Berker Eski took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ali Mertoğul, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A hard shot 45 in the game by Ali Vedat Özdilek from a close distance when the talented Berker Eski managed to make a qualified save. Istanbul's players were relieved. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gencer Seyhan made a kick off. Naci Ereken's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mustafa Barış Suyurgal read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 55th minute of play. Ali Mertoğul fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Berker Eski having to interfere. Berker Eski took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Özalp Hepyener, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 68th minute, Ali Vedat Özdilek got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Istanbul's zone, Ali Mertoğul stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Berker Eski came out of the goal and Ali Mertoğul tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ali Vedat Özdilek might have been able to make a better finish in the 72nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Berker Eski. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ali Vedat Özdilek ran back to his position shaking his head. In a very dangerous position, a player in Istanbul fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 74th minute. Penalty! In the 75th minute there was a penalty for Posof. Hamit Eryilmaz stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Berker Eski. 4-0. 84 minutes into the match, Istanbul's goal looked a bit too open when Ali Mertoğul came free, but Berker Eski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 93rd minute, Ali Vedat Özdilek got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 94 minutes, Ali Mertoğul managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Posof's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ali Mertoğul was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Posof's Ali Vedat Özdilek in the 97th minute got a chance for a shot 97th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Istanbul's goalie prevented a goal. Posof's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
