In the 6thth minute of the game Sinan Barlas who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Bornova's Muzaffer Ulucağ was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. İsmail Orhun Yazıcıoğlu succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-0 in the 10th playminute. In the 44th minute, Ali Nabi Kartekin ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Cevher Oktay was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Nedim Zorlu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Muzaffer Ulucağ made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from İsmail Orhun Yazıcıoğlu in the 55th minute of play. Muzaffer Ulucağ showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from İsmail Orhun Yazıcıoğlu in the 60th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sinan Barlas in the 63rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Muzaffer Ulucağ saved Bornova from getting behind. The audience was convinced that İsmail Orhun Yazıcıoğlu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Muzaffer Ulucağ was relentless in the 64th minute of the game. Bornova's Oğuz Sezal got his second yellow card of the match in the 66th minute. The referee ordered Oğuz Sezal off the ground.
