If Ahmet Asım Akkuş had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ulu Kutkan charged in rather forcefully in the 8th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ulu Kutkan the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Artova JK getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Ulu Kutkan hit a great ball. Okaner Peyami's late challenge caught a Birecik's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Okaner Peyami helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Artova JK's Okaner Peyami got a free kick in the 16th minute. After having played for 18 minutes, Ahmet Asım Akkuş managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Birecik's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ahmet Asım Akkuş was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Birecik booed when Artova JK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ulu Kutkan didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Artova JK getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Mehmet Edip Otay hit a great ball. Fevzi Nevruz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Ahmet Asım Akkuş came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Birecik fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ahmet Asım Akkuş couldn't finish the play. If Mansur Deniz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Fevzi Nevruz to strike the kick off in the second half. Ahmet Asım Akkuş could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 53rd minute of the match, but Gökçe Sarif made a huge save. In the 57th minute, Ahmet Asım Akkuş got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 64 played minutes Artova JK got a freekick which was hit by Kartal Akçay. Mansur Deniz might have been able to make a better finish in the 67th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Muzaffer Koray. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mansur Deniz ran back to his position shaking his head. Fevzi Nevruz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Muzaffer Koray tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 77 minutes into the game, Fevzi Nevruz cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Muzaffer Koray was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 89 played minutes Birecik got a freekick which was hit by Enginsu Şahinalp. If Mansur Deniz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Muzaffer Koray made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fevzi Nevruz in the 92nd minute of play. Ahmet Asım Akkuş struck a weak shot in the 95th minute. Gökçe Sarif didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Birecik. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fevzi Nevruz in the 98th minute of play forced Birecik's goalkeeper Muzaffer Koray to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Artova JK's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
