Sivas's supporters rose to their feet, but Ömür Yüce was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bora Çoğa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Arif Burak Bilge hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. After having played for 16 minutes, Abdullatif Tüzün managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sivas's supporters crossed their fingers, but Abdullatif Tüzün was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 18th minute, Ömür Yüce got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Bora Çoğa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Abdullatif Tüzün in the 20th minute of the match. Utkan Özdoru recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 23rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With his leg Bora Çoğa managed to avoid a goal in the 35thth minute, when Sivas's Ömür Yüce fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 37thth minute of the game Abdullatif Tüzün who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Cankiri SK's Bora Çoğa was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Abdullatif Tüzün had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Utkan Özdoru was the one to do the kick off. Lütfullah Korur showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Utkan Özdoru, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. If Ömür Yüce had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ömür Yüce fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bora Çoğa having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Necdet Keskin got free with Lütfullah Korur in the 59th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 66 minutes into the match, Cankiri SK's goal looked a bit too open when Ömür Yüce came free, but Bora Çoğa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Cankiri SK's Burhan Suat got a free kick in the 69th minute. Despite being the better team, Sivas failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
