The supporters of Can FK booed when Mersin was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Affan Ergüç didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 9th minute, Güneş Akyıldız reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Taner İplikçi. The goal made the score 1-0. The attack was good, but when Emirhan Savaş in the 12th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. In the 20th minute Güneş Akyıldız shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Taner İplikçi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Eyüp Özbil struck a weak shot in the 24th minute. Orhan Tevfik didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mersin. Ulu Akdeniz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Orhan Tevfik having to interfere. After some careless play in the Mersin defense, Hüsrev Kırca kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Taner İplikçi. The Mersin fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Taner İplikçi should have stopped the shot. Orhan Tevfik took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vural İlican, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd rose to their feet as Denizhan Başarman kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Taner İplikçi. That made the score 4-0 in the 43 minute of play. After 47 played minutes Mersin got a freekick which was hit by Eyüp Özbil. Taner İplikçi made a fantastic save in the 49th minute, when Hüsrev Kırca sent off a good shot on target. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 4-0.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Güneş Akyıldız to make the kick off. A collision led to Can FK getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Emirhan Savaş hit a great ball. 60 minutes into the match, Kamber Satıkbuğra dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Orhan Tevfik, 4-1. 64 minutes into the game, Can FK's Hüsrev Kırca nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Taner İplikçi made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-1. Ulu Akdeniz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Taner İplikçi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hüsrev Kırca, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. Ulu Akdeniz in the 73rdth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Orhan Tevfik, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 80th minute, Hüsrev Kırca hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Ahmet Orhan Onsoy fell near the penalty area in the 84th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Can FK's protests and gave Ahmet Orhan Onsoy a yellow card for diving instead. Kamber Satıkbuğra received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Orhan Tevfik tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
