After having played for 3 minutes, Asım Mahir managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Murgul's supporters crossed their fingers, but Asım Mahir was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Kurtuluş Resul struck a weak shot in the 5th minute. Seyfettin Akkoyun didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Genclerbirligi SK. Akşemseddin Yağınalp showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Asım Mahir in the 7th minute of the match. Seyfettin Akkoyun made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kurtuluş Resul in the 9th minute of play. A collision led to Murgul getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Öztürk Ersan hit a great ball. Seyfettin Akkoyun took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kurtuluş Resul, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 17th minute Asım Mahir shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Akşemseddin Yağınalp saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Seyfettin Akkoyun showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kurtuluş Resul in the 20th minute of the match. 30 minutes into the game, Celil Talayman was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Genclerbirligi SK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Murgul the free kick. In the 30th minute, Celil Talayman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Genclerbirligi SK's zone, Celalettin Tun stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Akşemseddin Yağınalp came out of the goal and Celalettin Tun tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, Kurtuluş Resul managed to get in a good position for a shot. Genclerbirligi SK's supporters rose to their feet, but Kurtuluş Resul was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Seyfettin Akkoyun breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Murgul's Seyfettin Akkoyun played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by İsmail Hakkı Akyel in the 47th minute of play.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Kurtuluş Resul stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 51 minutes, Ahmet Hasan Kaynak mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Genclerbirligi SK and the Murgul players grew even worse after the yellow card. 57 minutes into the match, Genclerbirligi SK's goal looked a bit too open when Celalettin Tun came free, but Akşemseddin Yağınalp reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 64 minutes into the match, İsmail Hakkı Akyel dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Seyfettin Akkoyun, 1-2. In the 67th minute Kurtuluş Resul shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Seyfettin Akkoyun saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Asım Mahir had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Murgul booed when Genclerbirligi SK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Celil Talayman didn't get a good kick on the ball. Murgul's Seyfettin Akkoyun proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 79th minute of the match, managed to save Murgul from getting a goal against them. In the 80th minute, Genclerbirligi SK's Kurtuluş Resul dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-3. İsmail Hakkı Akyel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Genclerbirligi SK's Celil Talayman got his second yellow card of the match in the 87th minute. The referee ordered Celil Talayman off the ground. After a rather tough play, Genclerbirligi SK's Celil Talayman got a free kick in the 87th minute. In the 88th minute of the match Cezmi Dokuzoğlu shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Akşemseddin Yağınalp showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Cevat Artuç hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. Akşemseddin Yağınalp took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Celalettin Tun, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Asım Mahir blasted a shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Akşemseddin Yağınalp having to make a save. Genclerbirligi SK's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
