An unexpectedly hard shot by Ahmet Hayri Erben in the 25th minute of play forced Senkaya FK's goalkeeper Cihangir Dersu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 26thth minute of the game Akın Özyurek who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Senkaya FK's Cihangir Dersu was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After some careless play in the Senkaya FK defense, Ahmet Hayri Erben kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Cihangir Dersu. The Senkaya FK fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cihangir Dersu should have stopped the shot. In the 35th minute, Mehmet Bilge Nasip left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Senkaya FK fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. 38 minutes into the match, Senkaya FK's goal looked a bit too open when Akın Özyurek came free, but Cihangir Dersu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Akın Özyurek took the ball and in the 38 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Cihangir Dersu. Cihangir Dersu dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Akın Özyurek managed to get in a good position for a shot. Galatabahçe's supporters rose to their feet, but Akın Özyurek was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cihangir Dersu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ahmet Hayri Erben got free with Cihangir Dersu in the 43rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Cihangir Dersu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Akın Özyurek in the 46th minute of the match. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Akın Özyurek stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Galatabahçe getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Enver Ekşioğlu hit a great ball. Erkut Kutay kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. Ahmet Hayri Erben blasted a shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Cihangir Dersu having to make a save. After 61 played minutes, Galatabahçe's Erol Umuralp shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Cihangir Dersu came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Galatabahçe reached it. Cihangir Dersu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Akın Özyurek, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match had gone on for 71 minutes, Akın Özyurek put it in 3-1 from a short distance just to the right of Cihangir Dersu. Galatabahçe's Emre Dengiz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 75th minute of the match, managed to save Galatabahçe from getting a goal against them. If Ahmet Hayri Erben had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 79th minute, Ahmet Hayri Erben ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Cihangir Dersu was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-1. Cihangir Dersu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Akın Özyurek in the 83rd minute of play. After having played for 84 minutes, Enver Ekşioğlu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Galatabahçe's supporters crossed their fingers, but Enver Ekşioğlu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 90 minutes into the match, Ahmet Hayri Erben notched a goal, 5-1, to the right of Senkaya FK's Cihangir Dersu. Cihangir Dersu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Galatabahçe's Akın Özyurek managed to work through Senkaya FK's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Akın Özyurek dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. When the referee ended the match the Galatabahçe players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
