Spectators: 33 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Birol İmran kicked off to start the match. Melih Cevdet Raid fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gencer Süngü having to interfere. In the 5th minute, Nurtekin Yağan ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Abdulbaki Cevizci was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Gencer Süngü made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Melih Cevdet Raid in the 14th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emrah Tacal in the 19th minute of play forced Galatasaray's goalkeeper Gencer Süngü to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Kılıçhan İbrahimoğlu charged in rather forcefully in the 24th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Kılıçhan İbrahimoğlu the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Mevlüt Özenli shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. Gencer Süngü made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emrah Tacal in the 27th minute of play. In the 31st minute, Cem Beyhan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Nurtekin Yağan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 40th match minute, Salihli was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mehmet Oğuz Tanzer to maneuver through the defense. Salihli's Emrah Tacal got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Birol İmran received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Abdulbaki Cevizci tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 46th minute, Mehmet Oğuz Tanzer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Nurtekin Yağan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Abdulbaki Cevizci having to interfere. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Melih Cevdet Raid stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Birol İmran in the 54th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Abdulbaki Cevizci prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Mevlüt Özenli's late challenge caught a Salihli's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mevlüt Özenli helped the player get up and apologised. In the 56th match minute, Galatasaray was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mevlüt Özenli to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Galatasaray's zone, Emrah Tacal stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gencer Süngü came out of the goal and Emrah Tacal tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Birol İmran hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. Birol İmran fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Abdulbaki Cevizci having to interfere. Abdulbaki Cevizci didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Galatasaray's Nurtekin Yağan shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 3-0 in the ordered_time% minute. Nurtekin Yağan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Abdulbaki Cevizci tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Birol İmran had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Melih Cevdet Raid in the 84th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gencer Süngü saved Galatasaray from getting behind. The crowd rose to their feet as Behiç Alkım kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Gencer Süngü. That made the score 3-1 in the 89 minute of play. If Birol İmran had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 95 minutes into the match, Salihli's goal looked a bit too open when Nurtekin Yağan came free, but Abdulbaki Cevizci reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bilgin Baş fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Abdulbaki Cevizci having to interfere. Galatasaray's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
