When the match clock showed 6 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Naci Azimoğlu sped through Demirköy's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Celil Gökkır. Turgut Oytunç's late challenge caught a Kastamonu's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Turgut Oytunç helped the player get up and apologised. In the 12th match minute, Demirköy was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Turgut Oytunç to maneuver through the defense. Naci Azimoğlu blasted a shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Celil Gökkır having to make a save. When Raik Erdönmez fell near the penalty area in the 18th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Kastamonu's protests and gave Raik Erdönmez a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Kastamonu's Sezer İlkin got a free kick in the 21st minute. Songurbey Şerefhan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mehmet Senih in the 22nd minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 23rd minute, Mehmet Senih managed to get in a good position for a shot. Demirköy's supporters rose to their feet, but Mehmet Senih was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Songurbey Şerefhan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Celil Gökkır made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Afşin Beycan in the 27th minute of play. 30 minutes into the game, Kastamonu's Naci Azimoğlu nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Celil Gökkır made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Afşin Beycan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Celil Gökkır tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Naci Azimoğlu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Celil Gökkır came out of the goal in the 39th minute to try and stop a shot by Kastamonu's Naci Azimoğlu. But to his dismay, Naci Azimoğlu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. In the 42nd minute of the match Göksun Tükelalp shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Celil Gökkır showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Naci Azimoğlu in the 43rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Celil Gökkır prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The Demirköy players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Kastamonu were winning 0-3.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Mehmet Senih to strike the kick off in the second half. Naci Azimoğlu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Celil Gökkır read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 53rd minute of play. With his leg Celil Gökkır managed to avoid a goal in the 55thth minute, when Kastamonu's Afşin Beycan fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. A hard shot 57 in the game by Afşin Beycan from a close distance when the talented Celil Gökkır managed to make a qualified save. Demirköy's players were relieved. The supporters of Kastamonu booed when Demirköy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Yavuzalp Süner didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 62nd minute, Kastamonu's Naci Azimoğlu dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-4. With his leg Celil Gökkır managed to avoid a goal in the 70thth minute, when Kastamonu's Afşin Beycan fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Celil Gökkır took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Naci Azimoğlu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Naci Azimoğlu in the 75th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Celil Gökkır saved Demirköy from getting behind. After having played for 81 minutes, Naci Azimoğlu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Kastamonu's supporters crossed their fingers, but Naci Azimoğlu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Ahmet Gökalp Yücelay fell near the penalty area in the 84th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. Celil Gökkır was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 94 minutes into the match, Kastamonu's goal looked a bit too open when Bedir Demirhan came free, but Songurbey Şerefhan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Kastamonu's Songurbey Şerefhan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mehmet Senih in the 100th minute of play.
