After some fancy dribbling in the 13th minute, Halil İbrahim Başkurt managed to get in a good position for a shot. Basciftlik JK's supporters rose to their feet, but Halil İbrahim Başkurt was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gökalp Bilgiç breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Basciftlik JK getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Giray Timurcan hit a great ball. The audience was convinced that Barbaros Sayar's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Hami Seyyid was relentless in the 29th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fikret Bilginer in the 31st minute of play forced Mersin SK's goalkeeper Gökalp Bilgiç to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Baysal Tanak fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gökalp Bilgiç having to interfere. With a little luck, Mersin SK's Gökalp Bilgiç got control of the ball when Baysal Tanak tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 45 played minutes Basciftlik JK got a freekick which was hit by Giray Timurcan. If Barbaros Sayar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Çelik Mazlum to make the kick off. Halil İbrahim Başkurt's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gökalp Bilgiç read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 53rd minute of play. The supporters of Basciftlik JK booed when Mersin SK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Çakır Özdinç didn't get a good kick on the ball. Barbaros Sayar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 60th minute, one of Basciftlik JK:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Basciftlik JK. The goalkeeper, Hami Seyyid, was totally fooled by Mersin SK's Sabri Serim, who 62 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. In the 64th minute Baysal Tanak shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gökalp Bilgiç saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Mersin SK getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Baturalp Zikri hit a great ball. In the 67th minute, Halil İbrahim Başkurt got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Fikret Bilginer's late challenge caught a Mersin SK's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Fikret Bilginer helped the player get up and apologised. In the 69th minute, Fikret Bilginer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Hami Seyyid didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Barbaros Sayar went, in the 71st minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. The supporters of Basciftlik JK booed when Mersin SK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Çakır Özdinç didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 79th minute, Baysal Tanak got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Baysal Tanak received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Gökalp Bilgiç tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Baysal Tanak in the 87th minute of play forced Mersin SK's goalkeeper Gökalp Bilgiç to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Baysal Tanak fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gökalp Bilgiç having to interfere. Basciftlik JK were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
