Korkutalp Aytolun didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Şenol Savaşer went, in the 7th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Fedai Rical sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, URZ61's Emrullah Temizcan got a free kick in the 15th minute. Enginsu Yalgın who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 17thth minute tested the skills of Uğuralp Kökşin when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 20th minute, Mustafa Şenyaşar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Southampton FC's Korkutalp Aytolun played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rıfkı Çiftçioğlu in the 21st minute of play. In the 26th minute the ball was on its way in behind URZ61's goalkeeper Uğuralp Kökşin, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 28 minutes into the match, URZ61's goal looked a bit too open when Ahmet Ceyhan Kınay came free, but Uğuralp Kökşin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 28th match minute, Southampton FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mustafa Şenyaşar to maneuver through the defense. Özdemir Berksoy charged in rather forcefully in the 30th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Özdemir Berksoy the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Özdemir Berksoy kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. In the 32nd minute, Müjdat Şahit hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to URZ61 getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Emrullah Temizcan hit a great ball. 37 minutes into the match, URZ61's goalkeeper Uğuralp Kökşin had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Enginsu Yalgın. URZ61's Uğuralp Kökşin proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 41st minute of the match, managed to save URZ61 from getting a goal against them. After the first half URZ61 were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Rıfkı Çiftçioğlu to make the kick off. If Fedai Rical had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Ahmet Ceyhan Kınay fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Uğuralp Kökşin having to interfere. 72 minutes into the match, Enginsu Yalgın had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Uğuralp Kökşin. URZ61's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Enginsu Yalgın was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. If Rıfkı Çiftçioğlu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 77th match minute, URZ61 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Müjdat Şahit to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, URZ61's Vural Dalan got a free kick in the 78th minute. Southampton FC's attentive Özdemir Berksoy managed to snatch the ball when Ahmet Ali Müşfik made a throw-in in the 83rd minute of the game. Fedai Rical might have been able to make a better finish in the 84th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Uğuralp Kökşin. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Fedai Rical ran back to his position shaking his head. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
