The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Feridun Pehlivan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ahmet Bülent Eriş scored 0-1 in the 7th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ahmet Hafiz Rafih, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 11th minute, Nurkan Hatipoğlu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Galatasaray A.Ş.'s Nurkan Hatipoğlu in the 19th minute got a chance for a shot 19th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. If Nurkan Hatipoğlu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Melikgazi's Ahmet Hafiz Rafih played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ahmet Bülent Eriş in the 41st minute of play.

55 minutes into the game, Kahraman Canaydin was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Galatasaray A.Ş.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Melikgazi the free kick. The supporters of Melikgazi booed when Galatasaray A.Ş. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arın Erkinay took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ünsal Berkman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ahmet Hafiz Rafih made a fantastic save in the 72nd minute, when Kahraman Canaydin sent off a good shot on target. Göktürk Ergener kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. If Adil Hazin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 83 minutes, Feridun Pehlivan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Galatasaray A.Ş.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Feridun Pehlivan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ahmet Hafiz Rafih showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nurkan Hatipoğlu in the 85th minute of the match. In the 87th minute Nurkan Hatipoğlu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ahmet Hafiz Rafih saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ahmet Hafiz Rafih showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nurkan Hatipoğlu, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. Ahmet Bülent Eriş charged in rather forcefully in the 95th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ahmet Bülent Eriş the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Ahmet Bülent Eriş kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match.
