If Dursun Ali Köker had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Kocaelispor's Gaffar Eraksan got a free kick in the 4th minute. 7 minutes into the match, Kocaelispor's goal looked a bit too open when Feyyaz Malgır came free, but Ramiz Akaltan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Erdem Umay in the 8th minute of play forced Kocaelispor's goalkeeper Ramiz Akaltan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Feyyaz Malgır fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ramiz Akaltan having to interfere. After having played for 19 minutes, Erdem Umay managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Beşiktaş JK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Erdem Umay was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Feyyaz Malgır came up free with the goalie in the 20th minute, the Beşiktaş JK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Feyyaz Malgır couldn't finish the play. After 38 played minutes, Kocaelispor's Gaffar Eraksan shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Cemal Hakim came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Kocaelispor reached it. The crowd rose to their feet as Kocaelispor's Güralp Ilgın slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Cemal Hakim. That made the score 1-1 after 40 minutes of play. Ramiz Akaltan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Erdem Umay in the 46th minute of play. Şanver Özakay received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Cemal Hakim tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Rahim Uygur to strike the kick off in the second half. Ramiz Akaltan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rahim Uygur in the 52nd minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Rahim Uygur kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Ramiz Akaltan. That made the score 1-2 in the 54 minute of play. Kocaelispor's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Rahim Uygur 57 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-3. Gaffar Eraksan hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. After 61 played minutes Beşiktaş JK got a freekick which was hit by Dursun Ali Köker. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dursun Ali Köker got free with Ramiz Akaltan in the 74th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 75th minute, Ozan Hirfanlı hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 77 minutes into the game, Şanver Özakay cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-3. Cemal Hakim was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 80 minutes into the game, Muammer Kavaş was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Kocaelispor's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Beşiktaş JK the free kick. In the 80th minute, one of Kocaelispor:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Kocaelispor. Kocaelispor:s Ramiz Akaltan showed great skill when he stopped Rahim Uygur:s penalty. When Rahim Uygur came up free with the goalie in the 84th minute, the Beşiktaş JK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rahim Uygur couldn't finish the play. Kocaelispor's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Beşiktaş JK the free kick. A collision led to Kocaelispor getting a freekick after 98 minutes play. Nafiz Mutlu hit a great ball. Beşiktaş JK's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
