Metin Balıkçı received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Erberk Özaslan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 11 minutes into the match, Samsunspor SK's Aşır Özsevi sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ruhi Kartal narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when İsmail Çakır got free with Ruhi Kartal in the 14th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 15th minute, Aşır Özsevi got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 17 minutes, Levent Oğuztüzün mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Hafik and the Samsunspor SK players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Samsunspor SK booed when Hafik was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Levent Oğuztüzün didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ruhi Kartal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aşır Özsevi, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. After a rather tough play, Samsunspor SK's Cengiz Zorbey got a free kick in the 20th minute. When Levent Oğuztüzün came up free with the goalie in the 33rd minute, the Hafik fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Levent Oğuztüzün couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Samsunspor SK getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Cengiz Zorbey hit a great ball. In the game's 36th minute Hafik's Ateş User took a hard shot from long distance, a kick which went into the net just to the right of Erberk Özaslan and thus the score was 0-1. With a little luck, Hafik's Ruhi Kartal got control of the ball when Aşır Özsevi tried to sneak it across the goal line. A collision led to Hafik getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Nuralp Gezer hit a great ball. In the 44th minute, Levent Oğuztüzün hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Samsunspor SK's İsmail Çakır managed to work through Hafik's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. İsmail Çakır dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Altuğ Suhan stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Samsunspor SK's İsmail Çakır in the 59th minute got a chance for a shot 59th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Hafik's goalie prevented a goal. Metin Balıkçı received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Erberk Özaslan came out and tried to block the shot, but Metin Balıkçı slotted it home off the left post making it 0-2 in the 61st minute. In the 66th minute Altuğ Suhan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Erberk Özaslan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Samsunspor SK's Erberk Özaslan proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 67th minute of the match, managed to save Samsunspor SK from getting a goal against them. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Aşır Özsevi in the 68th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ruhi Kartal prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Altuğ Suhan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Erberk Özaslan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Erberk Özaslan came out of the goal in the 75th minute to try and stop a shot by Hafik's Metin Balıkçı. But to his dismay, Metin Balıkçı quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cengiz Zorbey in the 80th minute of play forced Hafik's goalkeeper Ruhi Kartal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Aşır Özsevi struck a weak shot in the 84th minute. Ruhi Kartal didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Samsunspor SK. In the 88th minute Samsunspor SK were awarded a corner. Dinçer Nurtekin went to the cornerflag to take it. Dinçer Nurtekin made a great header on Samsunspor SK's corner, it was just that Hafik's Ruhi Kartal managed to reach the ball for a save. Erberk Özaslan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Altuğ Suhan in the 94th minute of the match. In the 99th minute of the match Samsunspor SK got a corner. Hafik's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Dinçer Nurtekin ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on Samsunspor SK's corner Dinçer Nurtekin fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Ruhi Kartal quite easily take care of the ball. The Hafik players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
