Sungurhan Kutlar charged in rather forcefully in the 26th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. After 49 played minutes, Mahmudiye's İlker Kunt shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Rasim Kutlughan came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Mahmudiye reached it. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 85 minutes into the match, Erkan Kırgız notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Aksehir JK's Rasim Kutlughan. Rasim Kutlughan was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 95 minutes, Yıldırım Başsoy mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Aksehir JK and the Mahmudiye players grew even worse after the yellow card. 94 minutes into the game, one of Aksehir JK:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty.
