Günalp Onay was left in no man's land by his defense there! 9 minutes into the match, Battalgazi JK's Ahmet Bülent Karun sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Anıl Cenk Özdemir narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 13th minute Timur Acarer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Günalp Onay saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Ahmet Bülent Karun had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 20 minutes into the match, Battalgazi JK's goalkeeper Günalp Onay had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tunç Mevlit. If Timur Acarer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Halit İmam charged in rather forcefully in the 23rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Halit İmam the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Sulakyurt JK booed when Battalgazi JK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Halit İmam didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sulakyurt JK's supporters rose to their feet, but Timur Acarer was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Günalp Onay breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Anıl Cenk Özdemir took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ahmet Bülent Karun, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sulakyurt JK's Tunç Mevlit got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Günalp Onay made a fantastic save in the 39th minute, when Tunç Mevlit sent off a good shot on target. If Ahmet Bülent Karun had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Hüseyin Rahmi Atikoğlu to make the kick off. When Hüseyin Rahmi Atikoğlu came up free with the goalie in the 64th minute, the Battalgazi JK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hüseyin Rahmi Atikoğlu couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tunç Mevlit in the 92nd minute of play forced Battalgazi JK's goalkeeper Günalp Onay to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Battalgazi JK's Günalp Onay played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tunç Mevlit in the 94th minute of play. In the 95th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sulakyurt JK's goalkeeper Anıl Cenk Özdemir, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Battalgazi JK's Ahmet Bülent Karun got a good chance for a goal in the 96th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
