The referee ignored Altay's protests and gave Erdoğan Sonay a yellow card for diving instead. After 4 played minutes Altay got a freekick which was hit by Erdoğan Sonay. Hakkı Sebuktekin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nusret Ergintuğ, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Artun Yetener sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After 24 minutes, Nusret Ergintuğ mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Altay and the Kestel players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 24th minute, Nusret Ergintuğ hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Artun Yetener might have been able to make a better finish in the 26th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Hakkı Sebuktekin. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Artun Yetener ran back to his position shaking his head. Hakkı Sebuktekin came out of the goal in the 29th minute to try and stop a shot by Altay's Artun Yetener. But to his dismay, Artun Yetener quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Nusret Ergintuğ blasted a shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Hakkı Sebuktekin having to make a save. Artun Yetener sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hakkı Sebuktekin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nusret Ergintuğ in the 36th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arkın Vefik in the 42nd minute of play forced Altay's goalkeeper Agah Umut to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

Altay's Efe Şikel got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With his leg Hakkı Sebuktekin managed to avoid a goal in the 54thth minute, when Altay's Nusret Ergintuğ fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Artun Yetener sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The attack was good, but when Nusret Ergintuğ in the 62nd minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. A collision led to Kestel getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Ertuğrul Bayar hit a great ball. 64 minutes into the match, Kestel's goalkeeper Hakkı Sebuktekin had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Artun Yetener. Nusret Ergintuğ received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Hakkı Sebuktekin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Arkın Vefik had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nusret Ergintuğ fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hakkı Sebuktekin having to interfere. In the 76th minute, Artun Yetener made a precise shot to the right of Hakkı Sebuktekin. Kestel's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. 79 minutes into the game, Tugay Adışanlı was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Kestel's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Altay the free kick.
