Nazil Tenzil tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Derman Tarim during the 10th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Konyaspor's Derman Tarim got a free kick in the 10th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 15th minute, Abdulhamit Şükür managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cankaya's supporters rose to their feet, but Abdulhamit Şükür was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nazil Tenzil breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Asım Arif Şenel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arın Ferhat Özekan having to interfere. 36 minutes into the match, Cankaya's Abdulhamit Şükür sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Nazil Tenzil narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Arın Ferhat Özekan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Çelikan Sağlamer, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. With his leg Nazil Tenzil managed to avoid a goal in the 41stth minute, when Cankaya's Abdulhamit Şükür fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Çelikan Sağlamer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arın Ferhat Özekan having to interfere. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Yavuz Bülent Nedim was the one to do the kick off. 52 minutes into the game, Artaç Baykoca was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Konyaspor's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cankaya the free kick. After a rather tough play, Konyaspor's Artaç Baykoca got a free kick in the 52nd minute. Abdulhamit Şükür struck a weak shot in the 66th minute. Nazil Tenzil didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cankaya. Ulvi Torcan kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. If Çelikan Sağlamer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. Konyaspor's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. During the 85th minute of the match Artaç Baykoca completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Artaç Baykoca a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Cankaya's Yavuz Bülent Nedim got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 90 minutes into the match, Abdulhamit Şükür notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Konyaspor's Nazil Tenzil. Nazil Tenzil was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Konyaspor's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vecdi Tublek was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Konyaspor's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Cankaya had won, even though Konyaspor had held more of the ball.
