An unexpectedly hard shot by Bican Zeynelabidin in the 6th minute of play forced Istanbulspor FK's goalkeeper Ahmet Arif İlham to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 8 minutes into the game, Davut Baysungur was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Istanbulspor FK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Gülnar FK the free kick. The supporters of Gülnar FK booed when Istanbulspor FK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Davut Baysungur didn't get a good kick on the ball. Enis İhsan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ediz Kılıçalp, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gülnar FK's Enis İhsan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Servet Yıldırım in the 17th minute of play. Güntekin Bedi kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. If Bican Zeynelabidin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Ediz Kılıçalp had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Bican Zeynelabidin came up free with the goalie in the 32nd minute, the Gülnar FK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bican Zeynelabidin couldn't finish the play. Servet Yıldırım sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Servet Yıldırım recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 37th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Enis İhsan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ediz Kılıçalp in the 42nd minute of play. Tanju Yurtseven received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Ahmet Arif İlham tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Gülnar FK players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Istanbulspor FK were winning 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Servet Yıldırım stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Feridun Cangun's late challenge caught a Gülnar FK's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Feridun Cangun helped the player get up and apologised. Feridun Cangun kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. Ahmet Arif İlham showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tanju Yurtseven, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. Ediz Kılıçalp who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 63rdth minute tested the skills of Enis İhsan when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 64 minutes into the match, Gülnar FK's goal looked a bit too open when Servet Yıldırım came free, but Enis İhsan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Istanbulspor FK's Ahmet Arif İlham played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bican Zeynelabidin in the 68th minute of play. Ahmet Arif İlham showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bican Zeynelabidin in the 72nd minute of the match. A collision led to Gülnar FK getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Hakan Attaroğlu hit a great ball. Gökçe Seralp was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 76th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ediz Kılıçalp got free with Enis İhsan in the 78th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Güntekin Bedi fell near the penalty area in the 80th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Gülnar FK's protests and gave Güntekin Bedi a yellow card for diving instead. After 80 played minutes Gülnar FK got a freekick which was hit by Güntekin Bedi. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tanju Yurtseven in the 89th minute of play forced Istanbulspor FK's goalkeeper Ahmet Arif İlham to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Servet Yıldırım received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Enis İhsan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Gülnar FK supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Istanbulspor FK's performance. The match ended with a win for Istanbulspor FK.
