The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Behzat Tulun showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. A collision led to Kurucasile getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Tarkan Ganim hit a great ball. Behzat Tulun showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tuncer Baldemir, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tuncer Baldemir in the 17th minute of play forced Kurucasile's goalkeeper Behzat Tulun to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 23 minutes, Yusuf Ziya Ramazanoğulları managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Kurucasile's supporters crossed their fingers, but Yusuf Ziya Ramazanoğulları was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Yusuf Ziya Ramazanoğulları fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without İnanç İnanç having to interfere. Kurucasile's Behzat Tulun played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hamdullah Tecik in the 47th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Kurucasile's Oğuzer Özerol got a free kick in the 47th minute. Behzat Tulun took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tuncer Baldemir, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Karahan Tanyel to make the kick off.
