The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Güral Balıkçıoğlu dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Kandemir Torum was extremely unlucky when he, in the 32nd minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. In the 34th match minute, Piraziz FK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ahmet Reha Tokgöz to maneuver through the defense. After some careless play in the Sarayburnu defense, Yavuz Selimhan Gürler kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Güral Balıkçıoğlu. The Sarayburnu fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Güral Balıkçıoğlu should have stopped the shot. Güral Balıkçıoğlu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gencer Köksan, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Kandemir Torum was the one to do the kick off. In the 54th minute Gencer Köksan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Güral Balıkçıoğlu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Müfit Yetener during the 57th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Sarayburnu's supporters rose to their feet, but Abdulbaki Elmacı was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Saip Olgunay breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 67th minute, Ahmet Hakan Baykal ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Güral Balıkçıoğlu was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. Abdulbaki Elmacı fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Saip Olgunay having to interfere. After having played for 77 minutes, Kandemir Torum managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sarayburnu's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kandemir Torum was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Sarayburnu's Güral Balıkçıoğlu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gencer Köksan in the 81st minute of play. Göksel Hanedan charged in rather forcefully in the 82nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Göksel Hanedan the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 86th match minute, Piraziz FK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Yavuz Selimhan Gürler to maneuver through the defense. Sarayburnu's Müfit Yetener got his second yellow card of the match in the 93rd minute. The referee ordered Müfit Yetener off the ground. Müfit Yetener kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. If Ahmet Hakan Baykal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
