In the 7th minute, Rüknettin Denizalp got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. İzzettin Ayalp made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Talat Mirza in the 13th minute of play. In the 17th minute Tan Işık shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but İzzettin Ayalp saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Zara's Özden Kutsel got a free kick in the 31st minute. 41 minutes into the match, Tokat's Rüknettin Denizalp sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Aybar Babaoğlu narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Rüknettin Denizalp had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 44 played minutes Zara got a freekick which was hit by Özden Kutsel. Rüknettin Denizalps short, quick shot in the 46thth minute got Aybar Babaoğlu to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

After a defensive mix-up in Zara's zone, Hasan Can Erandaç stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aybar Babaoğlu came out of the goal and Hasan Can Erandaç tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 57th minute, Rüknettin Denizalp got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 59 minutes, Hasan Can Erandaç managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tokat's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hasan Can Erandaç was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Zara's Aybar Babaoğlu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rüknettin Denizalp in the 65th minute of play. Rüknettin Denizalp struck a weak shot in the 69th minute. Aybar Babaoğlu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Tokat. Rüknettin Denizalp scored 1-1 in the 74th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Aybar Babaoğlu, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Zara's zone, Hasan Can Erandaç stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aybar Babaoğlu came out of the goal and Hasan Can Erandaç tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rüknettin Denizalp in the 85th minute of play forced Zara's goalkeeper Aybar Babaoğlu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 89 played minutes Tokat got a freekick which was hit by Hasan Can Erandaç. 93 minutes into the game, Tokat's Rüknettin Denizalp nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Aybar Babaoğlu made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. In the 95th minute, Dündar İsmail hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tokat walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
