An unexpectedly hard shot by Reis Balcı in the 11th minute of play forced GÖZTEPE's goalkeeper Ziya Şahinter to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 14th minute the ball was on its way in behind Yeniköy's goalkeeper Mustafa Barış Okyar, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ahmet Hayri Kürşat during the 15th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Ahmet Hayri Kürşat kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. Ali Atıf Akdemir's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mustafa Barış Okyar read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 19th minute of play. In the 38th minute, Bora Han Ceylan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 39 played minutes Yeniköy got a freekick which was hit by Ahmet Hayri Kürşat.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Orhan Öztek was the one to do the kick off. Yeniköy's Ahmet Hayri Kürşat got his second yellow card of the match in the 74th minute. The referee ordered Ahmet Hayri Kürşat off the ground. A collision led to Yeniköy getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Ahmet Hayri Kürşat hit a great ball. Birol Yağızkan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Mustafa Barış Okyar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the match clock showed 78 minutes, the score became 2-0 when Ali Atıf Akdemir sped through Yeniköy's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Mustafa Barış Okyar. Ali Atıf Akdemir might have been able to make a better finish in the 81st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Mustafa Barış Okyar. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ali Atıf Akdemir ran back to his position shaking his head. If Ali Atıf Akdemir had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 83rd minute Ali Atıf Akdemir shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mustafa Barış Okyar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 86 minutes, Atilla İhsan mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the GÖZTEPE and the Yeniköy players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 86th match minute, GÖZTEPE was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Atilla İhsan to maneuver through the defense. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. GÖZTEPE fully deserved thier win.
