The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 4 minutes into the match, Sarköy's goal looked a bit too open when Keramettin Akkın came free, but Cevher Özerk reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice moves Akif Buyruk could shoot a difficult shot in the 8th minute, which Önder Özozan however easily saved by the left post. In the 9th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sarköy's goalkeeper Cevher Özerk, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The supporters of Pendik booed when Sarköy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nazil Akçakan didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 11 played minutes Pendik got a freekick which was hit by Azmi Uğurhan. The referee ignored Sarköy's protests and gave Nazil Akçakan a yellow card for diving instead. After some careless play in the Sarköy defense, Keramettin Akkın kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Cevher Özerk. The Sarköy fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cevher Özerk should have stopped the shot.
A collision led to Sarköy getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Nazil Akçakan hit a great ball. Keramettin Akkın was extremely unlucky when he, in the 60th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. After some fancy dribbling in the 61st minute, Azmi Uğurhan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pendik's supporters rose to their feet, but Azmi Uğurhan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cevher Özerk breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ahmet Baki Turgay took the ball and in the 96 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Önder Özozan. Önder Özozan dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. The Sarköy supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Pendik's performance. The match ended with a win for Pendik.
