Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Remzi Yoruç started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Saffet Cilasun received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Mecnun Serim tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 9th minute, Saffet Cilasun got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Cengizhan Pirane fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mecnun Serim having to interfere. Saffet Cilasun received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Mecnun Serim tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Fuat Sargan's late challenge caught a Güneysu SK's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Fuat Sargan helped the player get up and apologised. After 19 played minutes Karsiyaka FK got a freekick which was hit by Fuat Sargan. If Ercan Kazan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Saffet Cilasun received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Mecnun Serim tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 27 minutes into the match, Karsiyaka FK's goal looked a bit too open when Saffet Cilasun came free, but Mecnun Serim reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 31 played minutes Güneysu SK got a freekick which was hit by Songurbey Rıfat. 31 minutes into the match, Karsiyaka FK's Tuncay Urza broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Saffet Cilasun fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mecnun Serim having to interfere. Cengizhan Pirane recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Saffet Cilasun was extremely unlucky when he, in the 45th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Güneysu SK's Levent Alpman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Remzi Yoruç in the 48th minute of play.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Saffet Cilasun to make the kick off. Saffet Cilasun recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ercan Kazan during the 54th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Cengizhan Pirane sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Ahmet Danış Tuncel fell near the penalty area in the 56th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Karsiyaka FK's protests and gave Ahmet Danış Tuncel a yellow card for diving instead. Güneysu SK's Saffet Cilasun got a good chance for a goal in the 57th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Saffet Cilasun came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the Güneysu SK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Saffet Cilasun couldn't finish the play. Levent Alpman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Remzi Yoruç, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. After 77 minutes, Saffet Cilasun mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Güneysu SK and the Karsiyaka FK players grew even worse after the yellow card. Remzi Yoruç had several of the Güneysu SK's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 78 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 0-2 score and a disappointed Levent Alpman as he didn't even see the shot coming. After 84 played minutes Karsiyaka FK got a freekick which was hit by Tuncay Urza. Levent Alpman made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ercan Kazan in the 90th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Güneysu SK's zone, Remzi Yoruç stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Levent Alpman came out of the goal and Remzi Yoruç tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Levent Alpman stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Remzi Yoruç's shot from short distance in the 95th minute. Erberk Demiralp hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Karsiyaka FK eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
