They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Deniz Ayaydın to make the kick off. Doğan Sanbay received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Gazi Mertoğul tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gazi Mertoğul showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Doğan Sanbay, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. In the 95th minute Doğan Sanbay shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gazi Mertoğul saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Atilla Kağan Perinçek didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Günalp Özdel went, in the 96th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-6 was the resulting score. The Güneysu fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Gazipasa SK were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
