The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sezai Canıtez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tuncay Bozer, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. İlmi Hazarbeyoğlu took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 11th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Coşkun Yasin. Akyazi's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Akyazi's Coşkun Yasin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Raşit Budaklı in the 13th minute of play. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tuncay Bozer couldn't finish the play. Raşit Budaklı fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Coşkun Yasin having to interfere. Burç Kutan kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. Zülfü Özcan was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 34th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Mustafa Ekrem Yaban's late challenge caught a Akyazi's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mustafa Ekrem Yaban helped the player get up and apologised. Mustafa Ekrem Yaban hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. After some careless play in the Kelkit defense, kaya Kamber kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Sezai Canıtez. The Kelkit fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sezai Canıtez should have stopped the shot. İlmi Hazarbeyoğlu kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. Akyazi's Coşkun Yasin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Raşit Budaklı in the 47th minute of play. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The Kelkit fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. Kelkit's defense didn't have a chance, in the 58th minute, when Tuncay Bozer scored to the left of an out of position Sezai Canıtez, making the score, 1-3. After 61 played minutes Akyazi got a freekick which was hit by Talip Tezcan. After 69 minutes, Zülfü Özcan mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Akyazi and the Kelkit players grew even worse after the yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 69th minute of the game. One of Akyazi:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Kelkit:s goal. Demir Ceberut received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Coşkun Yasin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tuncay Bozer might have been able to make a better finish in the 75th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sezai Canıtez. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tuncay Bozer ran back to his position shaking his head. Coşkun Yasin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Raşit Budaklı, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Demir Ceberut came up free with the goalie in the 83rd minute, the Kelkit fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Demir Ceberut couldn't finish the play. Gürcan Köker hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. Akyazi's kaya Kamber got a good chance for a goal in the 89th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 95 minutes, Raşit Budaklı managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Kelkit's supporters crossed their fingers, but Raşit Budaklı was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Coşkun Yasin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Demir Ceberut, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Akyazi had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
