In the 2nd match minute, Gökcebey was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nuratay Omural to maneuver through the defense. In the 4th minute Efekan Akağan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kutalp Ulubaş saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 20th minute, Gökcebey's Namık Kemal Taykara ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Şensoy Tecer. Şensoy Tecer yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. Rıfat Mümin took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 24th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Şensoy Tecer. Beşiktaş's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Kutalp Ulubaş made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Efekan Akağan in the 25th minute of play. In the 26th match minute, Beşiktaş was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Atıf Servet to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Gökcebey booed when Beşiktaş was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hayri Tamerk didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Beşiktaş's zone, Namık Kemal Taykara stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Şensoy Tecer came out of the goal and Namık Kemal Taykara tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Şensoy Tecer made a fantastic save in the 30th minute, when Bircan Gürçınar sent off a good shot on target. If Atıf Servet had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Beşiktaş's Atıf Servet got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Efekan Akağan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Kutalp Ulubaş tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kutalp Ulubaş stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Atıf Servet's shot from short distance in the 40th minute. A sloppy throw-in by Tahir Ulutekin in the 42nd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Beşiktaş's Şener Makbul. Kutalp Ulubaş showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Atıf Servet in the 47th minute of the match.

53 minutes had been played when some careless play by Gökcebey's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Alişan Vala was slow to take the kick. During this time Beşiktaş's players had a chance to rest. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Gökcebey's goalie and right to Efekan Akağan. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Gökcebey's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. 58 minutes into the game, Alişan Vala was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Beşiktaş's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Gökcebey the free kick. In the 62nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Gökcebey's goalkeeper Kutalp Ulubaş, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Efekan Akağan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 66th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Atıf Servet came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the Beşiktaş fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Atıf Servet couldn't finish the play. In the 75th minute, Bircan Gürçınar made a precise shot to the right of Şensoy Tecer. Beşiktaş's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 78th minute, Atıf Servet managed to get in a good position for a shot. Beşiktaş's supporters rose to their feet, but Atıf Servet was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kutalp Ulubaş breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 79 played minutes Gökcebey got a freekick which was hit by Tahir Ulutekin. Rıfat Mümin kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. Kutalp Ulubaş stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Atıf Servet's shot from short distance in the 83rd minute. If Efekan Akağan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rıfat Mümin hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. Gökcebey's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
