Refik Müşfik breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 13th match minute, Kocaali JK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rıfkı Temel to maneuver through the defense. After 15 played minutes Kocaali JK got a freekick which was hit by Hüsmen Şanlı. Burhan Hüdayioğlus short, quick shot in the 25thth minute got Refik Müşfik to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Aşkın Babayiğit showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mürsel Pozan, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. Burhan Hüdayioğlu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Refik Müşfik having to interfere. Burhan Hüdayioğlu struck a weak shot in the 35th minute. Refik Müşfik didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Kocaali JK. Burhan Hüdayioğlu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Refik Müşfik tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Izmit's Refik Müşfik played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Başar Serdengeçti in the 45th minute of play. Burhan Hüdayioğlu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Refik Müşfik having to interfere. Ali Cafer Çağan hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Başar Serdengeçti to strike the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Burhan Hüdayioğlu in the 57th minute of play forced Izmit's goalkeeper Refik Müşfik to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Refik Müşfik showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Başar Serdengeçti, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. The supporters of Kocaali JK booed when Izmit was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Metehan Kadim didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 69 minutes of play, Kocaali JK's Tayyar Korhan made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Refik Müşfik was left in no man's land by his defense there! Başar Serdengeçti received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Refik Müşfik tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kocaali JK's Aşkın Babayiğit played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mürsel Pozan in the 81st minute of play. In the 83rd minute, Kocaali JK's Rıfkı Temel seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Rıfkı Temel the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Kocaali JK protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Rıfkı Temel had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After 82 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Kocaali JK! Refik Müşfik showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tayyar Korhan in the 88th minute of the match. When Burhan Hüdayioğlu came up free with the goalie in the 98th minute, the Kocaali JK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Burhan Hüdayioğlu couldn't finish the play.
