In the 3rd minute of the match, Ali Güralp Enginer tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Rauf Sözmen saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Vedat Yumus sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 14th minute, Hüseyin Rahmi Cevahir hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rauf Sözmen made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kandemir Cebir in the 15th minute. Vedat Yumus received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Rauf Sözmen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Özgüzeldere getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Fadıl Kökten hit a great ball. In the 22nd minute Şaban Erol collided with an opponent which caused him a fractured collar bone. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ali Güralp Enginer in the 26th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rauf Sözmen prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 28th minute, Ali Güralp Enginer reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Rauf Sözmen. The goal made the score 1-0. In the 32nd minute, Ali Güralp Enginer got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 34 minutes into the game, Tekirdağ's Vedat Yumus nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rauf Sözmen made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. After having played for 39 minutes, Ali Güralp Enginer managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tekirdağ's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ali Güralp Enginer was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Özgüzeldere's zone, Vedat Yumus stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rauf Sözmen came out of the goal and Vedat Yumus tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
The wind increased when Vedat Yumus made the kick off in the second half. Tekirdağ's Ali Güralp Enginer got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Vedat Yumus fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rauf Sözmen having to interfere. In the 63rd match minute, Özgüzeldere was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Behlül Tanuğur to maneuver through the defense. After 69 played minutes Özgüzeldere got a freekick which was hit by Okan İlkay. Vedat Yumus recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 71st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Tekirdağ getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Özgüzeldere's Rauf Sözmen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vedat Yumus in the 87th minute of play. After 93 minutes, Fadıl Kökten mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Özgüzeldere and the Tekirdağ players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Tekirdağ booed when Özgüzeldere was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fadıl Kökten didn't get a good kick on the ball.
