Hüseyin Can Sönmez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Güray Turatekin, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. A collision led to Riders of Rohan getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Lokman Honazlı hit a great ball. If Baysal İlkut had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. Doğuhan Hirfanlı made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mahsun Onuker in the 17th minute of play. After some careless play in the Riders of Rohan defense, Mahsun Onuker kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Doğuhan Hirfanlı. The Riders of Rohan fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Doğuhan Hirfanlı should have stopped the shot. Riders of Rohan's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mersin FK the free kick. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The wind increased when Güray Turatekin made the kick off in the second half. 57 minutes into the match, Rafet Resul notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of Mersin FK's Hüseyin Can Sönmez. Hüseyin Can Sönmez was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Güray Turatekin in the 62nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Hüseyin Can Sönmez saved Mersin FK from getting behind. In the 63rd minute Mahsun Onuker shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Doğuhan Hirfanlı saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hüseyin Can Sönmez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Güray Turatekin in the 64th minute of play. 66 minutes into the game, Güray Turatekin recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Hüseyin Can Sönmez. Güray Turatekin showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-3. After 69 minutes, Zikri İpek mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Mersin FK and the Riders of Rohan players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Riders of Rohan booed when Mersin FK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zikri İpek didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rafet Resul in the 70thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Hüseyin Can Sönmez, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. 74 minutes into the match, Riders of Rohan's Güray Turatekin sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Hüseyin Can Sönmez narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Doğuhan Hirfanlı showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mahsun Onuker in the 77th minute of the match. Doğuhan Hirfanlı came out of the goal in the 78th minute to try and stop a shot by Mersin FK's Baysal İlkut. But to his dismay, Baysal İlkut quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-3. Baysal İlkut received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Doğuhan Hirfanlı tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Güray Turatekin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute.
