Ali Atıf Oğuztüzün's late challenge caught a MACKASPOR's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. In the 2nd match minute, Karpuzlu was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ali Atıf Oğuztüzün to maneuver through the defense. 0-1 became the score in the 10th minute when Beşir Bozdağ elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Turan Coşan made an important save on a dangerous shot by Galip Mengü in the 13th minute. In the 13th minute, Talat Dengiz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Besim Kutsalan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Ferit Akdemir tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Beşir Bozdağ fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ferit Akdemir having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Karpuzlu's Ahmet Efe Baykal got a free kick in the 26th minute. In the 31st minute Besim Kutsalan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ferit Akdemir saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Besim Kutsalan's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ferit Akdemir was relentless in the 35th minute of the game. When Hadi Abanoz fell near the penalty area in the 36th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Karpuzlu's protests and gave Hadi Abanoz a yellow card for diving instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Galip Mengü got free with Turan Coşan in the 45th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Karpuzlu's Turan Coşan proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 47th minute of the match, managed to save Karpuzlu from getting a goal against them. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Besim Kutsalan in the 53rdth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Ferit Akdemir, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Galip Mengü received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Turan Coşan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. MACKASPOR made a substitution. Aktan Sayman replaced Abdullah Geçimoğlu. Ferit Akdemir took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Beşir Bozdağ, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Besim Kutsalan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Besim Kutsalans short, quick shot in the 61stth minute got Ferit Akdemir to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. If Beşir Bozdağ had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Beşir Bozdağ in the 74th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ferit Akdemir saved MACKASPOR from getting behind. Besim Kutsalan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ferit Akdemir having to interfere. Karpuzlu's Turan Coşan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Çakabey Erdemir in the 78th minute of play. The nice shot from Besim Kutsalan in the 80thth minute just in front of the goal should have ended in point on the board, but Ferit Akdemir had a great feel for the game and superbly saved the ball from getting in by the left post. Besim Kutsalan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ferit Akdemir having to interfere. Çakabey Erdemir sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 93rd minute, Hadi Abanoz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The MACKASPOR fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Karpuzlu were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
