After 14 minutes of play, Passenger's Mario Hortigosa made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Abdi Saygın Özerek was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 17th minute, Ahmet Boran Şencan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 18 minutes into the game, Innokentiy Dudarev was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Bornova's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Passenger the free kick. The supporters of Passenger booed when Bornova was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Innokentiy Dudarev didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gökhan Umur fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jacek Zdrojowy having to interfere. When Gökhan Umur fell near the penalty area in the 26th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Bornova's protests and gave Gökhan Umur a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Bornova getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Gökhan Umur hit a great ball. Mario Hortigosa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Abdi Saygın Özerek tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 35 minutes, Mario Hortigosa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Passenger's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mario Hortigosa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 41 minutes, Mario Hortigosa made it 0-4 with a short kick to the right side. Bornova's Abdi Saygın Özerek tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The supporters of Passenger booed when Bornova was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Onisim Olabe didn't get a good kick on the ball. 44 minutes into the match, Passenger's Asım Arif Hinoğlu broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Innokentiy Dudarev kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-4.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gökhan Umur to strike the kick off in the second half. Abdi Saygın Özerek showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sungurbey Armağan, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. Gökhan Umur hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. In the 73rd minute Mario Hortigosa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Abdi Saygın Özerek saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Passenger's Pekin Satıbey got a free kick in the 75th minute. Abdi Saygın Özerek showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sungurbey Armağan, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. Abdi Saygın Özerek came out of the goal and Sungurbey Armağan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Mario Hortigosa had several of the Bornova's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 93 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 0-5 score and a disappointed Abdi Saygın Özerek as he didn't even see the shot coming. The Passenger supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Passenger would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
