The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Şenol Peyami took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aktaç Şahistan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Yahsihan's Sungurhan Şıran got a good chance for a goal in the 57th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The crowd rose to their feet as Sungurhan Şıran kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Şenol Peyami. That made the score 1-5 in the 60 minute of play. 68 minutes into the match, Trabzonspor's goal looked a bit too open when Sungurhan Şıran came free, but Şenol Peyami reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Yahsihan would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
