The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Hristivoj Stoichkov fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ahmet Nasir Babacan having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Ekvator Ginesi's zone, Erhun Tanyeli stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Emir Çile came out of the goal and Erhun Tanyeli tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Emir Çile showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Battal Gazi Alpsoy in the 17th minute of the match. Ekvator Ginesi's Emir Çile played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Turan Turcan in the 20th minute of play. In the 26th minute, Turan Turcan made a precise shot to the right of Emir Çile. Ekvator Ginesi's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. After 30 played minutes Ekvator Ginesi got a freekick which was hit by Doğuş Ekici. Emir Çile made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Melih Cevdet Akıncıbeyoğlu in the 32nd minute of play. Emir Çile showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Battal Gazi Alpsoy in the 37th minute of the match. Emir Çile took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Battal Gazi Alpsoy, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gazanfer Falcıoğlu during the 42nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Yağız Neşat was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 43rd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Melih Cevdet Akıncıbeyoğlu to make the kick off. 57 minutes into the match, Ekvator Ginesi's goal looked a bit too open when Melih Cevdet Akıncıbeyoğlu came free, but Emir Çile reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 58 minutes of play, Cicekdagi FK's Battal Gazi Alpsoy made it 0-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Emir Çile was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 62nd minute, Ufuk Tulunay hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 64 minutes into the match, Ekvator Ginesi's goal looked a bit too open when Melih Cevdet Akıncıbeyoğlu came free, but Emir Çile reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, Ekvator Ginesi's Emir Çile got control of the ball when Battal Gazi Alpsoy tried to sneak it across the goal line. Erhun Tanyeli hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. Emir Çile made a fantastic save in the 70th minute, when Battal Gazi Alpsoy sent off a good shot on target. In the 73rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Ekvator Ginesi's goalkeeper Emir Çile, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. With a little luck, Ekvator Ginesi's Emir Çile got control of the ball when Battal Gazi Alpsoy tried to sneak it across the goal line. With an all-out effort, Cicekdagi FK's Emir Çile threw himself towards the right post 80 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Melih Cevdet Akıncıbeyoğlu, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. When Cicekdagi FK's Melih Cevdet Akıncıbeyoğlu in the 81st minute got a chance for a shot 81st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Emir Çile made a fantastic save in the 87th minute, when Battal Gazi Alpsoy sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of Cicekdagi FK booed when Ekvator Ginesi was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hristivoj Stoichkov didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ufuk Tulunay got his second yellow card in the match during the 92nd minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. In the 93rd match minute, Ekvator Ginesi was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ufuk Tulunay to maneuver through the defense. The Cicekdagi FK supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Cicekdagi FK would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
