Aurelian Panin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Raimundo Otero, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. Aurelian Panin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from 龙岩谦, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A.Mekikspor's Enrico Di Toma played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Çağatay Kuyas in the 47th minute of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

With a couple of smart ball manuevers Raimundo Otero in the 52nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Aurelian Panin saved Gölcükspor from getting behind. After 53 played minutes Gölcükspor got a freekick which was hit by Lennie Dowdall. Aurelian Panin acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 54th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Rahmi Haymanalı. Enrico Di Toma came out of the goal in the 55th minute to try and stop a shot by Gölcükspor's Renaud Grandpré. But to his dismay, Renaud Grandpré quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. In the 59th minute, Ahmet Bedri Keskiner ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Enrico Di Toma was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. 63 minutes into the game, A.Mekikspor's Raimundo Otero nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Aurelian Panin made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. 67 minutes into the match, Renaud Grandpré had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Enrico Di Toma. A.Mekikspor's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Renaud Grandpré was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-2. Rahmi Haymanalı could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 71st minute of the match, but Aurelian Panin made a huge save. Aurelian Panin made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rahmi Haymanalı in the 71st minute. 龙岩谦 sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. Osman Nuri Altuner got a throw-in 94 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Rahmi Haymanalı. The audience was convinced that Renaud Grandpré's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Enrico Di Toma was relentless in the 96th minute of the game. A.Mekikspor's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
