Bovingdon FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Tynemouth the free kick. Bovingdon FC's Shabeb Shalan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sayer Taqi in the 15th minute of play. After having played for 20 minutes, Zaher Al Mothaf managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bovingdon FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Zaher Al Mothaf was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Zaher Al Mothaf did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-0 to the left of a surprised Mosaed Al Mulaifi 22 minutes into the match. After 24 played minutes Bovingdon FC got a freekick which was hit by Naem Al Mehana. After having played for 29 minutes, Rida Shams managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tynemouth's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rida Shams was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Mosaed Al Mulaifi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zaher Al Mothaf in the 41st minute of the match. Habib Al Mansor received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Mosaed Al Mulaifi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 46 minutes into the match, Tynemouth's goal looked a bit too open when Zaher Al Mothaf came free, but Mosaed Al Mulaifi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Sayer Taqi to make the kick off. In the 60th minute, Mahdi Al Ramzi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rida Shams fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Shabeb Shalan having to interfere. In the 68th minute, Sayer Taqi got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Tynemouth's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
