Majed Al Asuosi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 20 minutes into the match, Atherton FC's goal looked a bit too open when Sameer Al Ansari came free, but Majed Al Asuosi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Atherton FC's Majed Al Asuosi proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 21st minute of the match, managed to save Atherton FC from getting a goal against them. 24 minutes into the match, Atherton FC's goalkeeper Majed Al Asuosi had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tamem Al Dekhel. In the 26th minute, Yazeed Shams hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 26 minutes into the match, Lancaster's Jawad Al Mansor broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Majed Al Asuosi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sameer Al Ansari in the 37th minute of play. Majed Al Asuosi made a fantastic save in the 44th minute, when Tamem Al Dekhel sent off a good shot on target. Sadeq Al Ajmi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Abdullah Al Holey in the 47th minute of the match. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Abdullah Al Holey to make the kick off. Tamem Al Dekhel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Majed Al Asuosi having to interfere. Majed Al Asuosi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tamem Al Dekhel in the 57th minute of the match. Meshari Ashkananis short, quick shot in the 58thth minute got Sadeq Al Ajmi to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sameer Al Ansari in the 61st minute of play forced Atherton FC's goalkeeper Majed Al Asuosi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 63 minutes into the match, Lancaster's goalkeeper Sadeq Al Ajmi had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Meshari Ashkanani. In the 66th minute, Yazeed Shams got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Lancaster's Tamem Al Dekhel got a good chance for a goal in the 68th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Abdullah Al Holey fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sadeq Al Ajmi having to interfere. In the 87th minute the ball was on its way in behind Lancaster's goalkeeper Sadeq Al Ajmi, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 94th minute, Tamem Al Dekhel managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lancaster's supporters rose to their feet, but Tamem Al Dekhel was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Majed Al Asuosi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 96th minute, Tamem Al Dekhel got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the final whistle went the supporters of Atherton FC were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant Lancaster side.
