Kamal Al Mahmed showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nizar Al Asuosi in the 24th minute of the match. Ghazi Al Wazan charged in rather forcefully in the 25th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ghazi Al Wazan the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Selsdon booed when Rothwell was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ghazi Al Wazan didn't get a good kick on the ball. In a very dangerous position, a player in Selsdon fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 28th minute. Penalty! Ramadan Al Khames showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nawaf Al Azmi, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. In the 37th minute, Sadeq Bo Hamad hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Nizar Al Asuosi's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Kamal Al Mahmed read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 39th minute of play. After 40 minutes, Sadeq Bo Hamad mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Rothwell and the Selsdon players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Selsdon booed when Rothwell was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sadeq Bo Hamad didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 42nd minute, Moner Al Sherazi sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Rothwell's Kamal Al Mahmed didn't even have to move. Selsdon's Nizar Al Asuosi got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Tamem Al Adsani struck a weak shot in the 46th minute. Kamal Al Mahmed didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Selsdon. Nizar Al Asuosi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Kamal Al Mahmed tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tamem Al Adsani to strike the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Rothwell getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Sadeq Bo Hamad hit a great ball. Nawaf Al Azmi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Ramadan Al Khames tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Esmael Al Qatam during the 63rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Rothwell's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Tamem Al Adsani 72 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-1. When Nizar Al Asuosi came up free with the goalie in the 77th minute, the Selsdon fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nizar Al Asuosi couldn't finish the play. Nizar Al Asuosi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Kamal Al Mahmed tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rothwell's Kamal Al Mahmed proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 87th minute of the match, managed to save Rothwell from getting a goal against them. Kamal Al Mahmed made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tamem Al Adsani in the 89th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Wael Al Mulaifi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rothwell's supporters rose to their feet, but Wael Al Mulaifi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ramadan Al Khames breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Tamem Al Adsani recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 98th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
