Reading AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Salam Al Besher was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Salam Al Besher received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Yaqoub Bo Abbas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hakem Al Wazan scored 0-1 in the 28th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Rashed Bahbhani, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 31st minute, Yaqoot Al Balool hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 35th minute, Raed Al Ammar got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 37 minutes into the game, one of Reading AFC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 38th minute there was a penalty for Gainsborough United. Bahaa Sarkhoh stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Rashed Bahbhani. 0-2. Rashed Bahbhani showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hakem Al Wazan, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. If Salam Al Besher had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

The wind increased when Raed Al Ammar made the kick off in the second half. In the 56th minute, Rashed Boften hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sulaiman Al Naqi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rashed Bahbhani having to interfere. Reading AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Salam Al Besher was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Yaqoub Bo Abbas breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 76 minutes, Faris Al Amer mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gainsborough United and the Reading AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 76th match minute, Gainsborough United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Faris Al Amer to maneuver through the defense.
