Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Hamdan Al Ramzi started the match with the kick off. In the 4th minute Faraj Al Dekhel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rida Al Bloshi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Faraj Al Dekhel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rida Al Bloshi having to interfere. Raed Al Mahmed's late challenge caught a Lytham United's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Raed Al Mahmed helped the player get up and apologised. In the 7th match minute, Wetherby was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Raed Al Mahmed to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Lytham United booed when Wetherby was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sharf Al Mofede didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 21st match minute, Wetherby was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sharf Al Mofede to maneuver through the defense. 24 minutes into the match, Lytham United's goal looked a bit too open when Hamdan Al Ramzi came free, but Yousef Al Homaithe reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Ghasan Al Ateqi fell near the penalty area in the 26th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Wetherby's protests and gave Ghasan Al Ateqi a yellow card for diving instead. Rida Al Bloshi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Faraj Al Dekhel, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. Rida Al Bloshi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Faraj Al Dekhel in the 29th minute of play. Majed Boften sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Bassam Shrean had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hamdan Al Ramzi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Yousef Al Homaithe tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Yousef Al Homaithe stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Hamdan Al Ramzi's shot from short distance in the 41st minute. Nasser Al Sayer hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. Yousef Al Homaithe made an important save on a dangerous shot by Bassam Shrean in the 43rd minute. The Wetherby players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Lytham United were winning 0-1.
After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Faraj Al Dekhel managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lytham United's supporters rose to their feet, but Faraj Al Dekhel was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rida Al Bloshi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Yousef Al Homaithe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hamdan Al Ramzi in the 59th minute of play. Faraj Al Dekhel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Rida Al Bloshi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Majed Boften in the 64th minute of play forced Wetherby's goalkeeper Rida Al Bloshi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Wetherby's Sharf Al Mofede got a free kick in the 64th minute. The supporters of Wetherby booed when Lytham United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Younis Al Shaikh didn't get a good kick on the ball. Msaed Al Rifaee kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. After 78 played minutes Majed Boften could catch the ball where he stood relatively free a bit outside the goal and without hesitation he completed 1-3 into the left cross. Abdul Rahman Bo Shehri hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. Faraj Al Dekhel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Hamdan Al Ramzi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 86th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Majed Boften in the 90th minute of play forced Wetherby's goalkeeper Rida Al Bloshi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Lytham United's Ramadan Al Hajri got a free kick in the 96th minute. The Lytham United supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Lytham United would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
