Zahid Al Qattamy was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Msaed Al Herz showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-1 in the 22 minute of play. After 26 minutes of play, Wetherby FC's Saleh Al Khars made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Wetherby FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Penistone FC the free kick. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Saed Al Bahar managed to get in a good position for a shot. Wetherby FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Saed Al Bahar was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Faleh Al Sharah breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After the first half Wetherby FC were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Saleh Al Khars stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After having played for 56 minutes, Shaheen Al Towatan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Penistone FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Shaheen Al Towatan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 59 played minutes Wetherby FC's Saed Al Bahar stole the ball from his opponents and shot the ball towards the upper left corner, but Faleh Al Sharah stretched himself as far as he could, and stopped the ball from passing the line. robbing Penistone FC of the goal. In the 88th minute Saleh Al Khars shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Faleh Al Sharah saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Saed Al Bahar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 95th minute, Oun Mandane hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Wetherby FC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
