After having played for 3 minutes, Aamir Al Wazan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Newmarket's supporters crossed their fingers, but Aamir Al Wazan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Newmarket's Mamdouh Al Ansari got a good chance for a goal in the 4th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Aamir Al Wazan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Aamir Al Wazan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Shaheen Boften having to interfere. Jalal Al Sharah's late challenge caught a Newmarket's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jalal Al Sharah helped the player get up and apologised. In the 11th minute of the match Haider Abol shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Shaheen Boften showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Shaheen Boften took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aamir Al Wazan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Stockport's Shaheen Boften played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mamdouh Al Ansari in the 16th minute of play. 17 minutes into the match, Stockport's goal looked a bit too open when Aamir Al Wazan came free, but Shaheen Boften reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Aamir Al Wazan struck a weak shot in the 22nd minute. Shaheen Boften didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Newmarket. Aamir Al Wazan might have been able to make a better finish in the 26th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Shaheen Boften. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Aamir Al Wazan ran back to his position shaking his head. After some fancy dribbling in the 30th minute, Mamdouh Al Ansari managed to get in a good position for a shot. Newmarket's supporters rose to their feet, but Mamdouh Al Ansari was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Shaheen Boften breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Mamdouh Al Ansari fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Shaheen Boften having to interfere. Stockport's Fared Al Matrok got his second yellow card of the match in the 34th minute. The referee ordered Fared Al Matrok off the ground. In the 48th minute Aamir Al Wazan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Shaheen Boften saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Aamir Al Wazan stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Marzoq Bo Resley charged in rather forcefully in the 57th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Marzoq Bo Resley the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 58 minutes into the game, Newmarket's Aamir Al Wazan nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Shaheen Boften made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Mamdouh Al Ansari received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Shaheen Boften tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Aamir Al Wazan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. A collision led to Stockport getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Jalal Al Hammady hit a great ball. Aamir Al Wazan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Shaheen Boften tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Shaheen Boften showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aamir Al Wazan, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. After a rather tough play, Stockport's Abdulatif Al Azmi got a free kick in the 76th minute. Aamir Al Wazan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Shaheen Boften having to interfere. After having played for 81 minutes, Aamir Al Wazan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. After 91 played minutes Stockport got a freekick which was hit by Marzoq Bo Resley. Shaheen Boften stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Aamir Al Wazan's shot from short distance in the 93rd minute. Jalal Al Hammady sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the final whistle sounded Newmarket left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Stockport.
