An unexpectedly hard shot by Barakat Al Dabos in the 45th minute of play forced Hook's goalkeeper Waleed Al Habshi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ebrahem Al Muwail stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 51st match minute, Hook was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Yasen Al Sarraf to maneuver through the defense. 53 minutes into the match, Hook's goal looked a bit too open when Aadil Al Ajmi came free, but Waleed Al Habshi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
