Petersfield's Bader Abol got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 45 played minutes Swindon City got a freekick which was hit by Talal Boften. Bassam Al Habshi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Younis Mandane, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

In the 65th minute, one of Petersfield:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Petersfield. The referee gave Swindon City a penalty, 67 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Eesa Al Ali, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Petersfield's Fayez Al Motar. 1-0.
