The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Sayer Al Towatan during the 7th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 7 played minutes Stevenage got a freekick which was hit by Sayer Al Towatan. 11 minutes into the match, Smallfield's goal looked a bit too open when Hamed Al Balool came free, but Sanad Al Hashash reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 43 minutes, Mamon Taiban managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Smallfield's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mamon Taiban was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Malik Al Hajri in the 47th minute of play forced Smallfield's goalkeeper Sanad Al Hashash to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

Mamon Taiban sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
