Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Maksim Sabanov in the 19th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Aleksandr Kuksin prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Irakliy Korsakov took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ernest Chigirinov, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Engels booed when Tula was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Konstantin Buyanov didn't get a good kick on the ball. Irakliy Korsakov showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Konstantin Buyanov, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Konstantin Buyanov was the one to do the kick off. After 54 minutes, Mikhail Terentiev mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Engels and the Tula players grew even worse after the yellow card. When Konstantin Buyanov fell near the penalty area in the 86th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Tula's protests and gave Konstantin Buyanov a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Engels booed when Tula was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Konstantin Buyanov didn't get a good kick on the ball. Engels's Maksim Sabanov got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ernest Chigirinov fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Irakliy Korsakov having to interfere. Engels's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
